FR 7: Comming Soon!

FR 6: Future Re/interpretation

Conference Description: Research into Practice 2008 will be held on 31 October 2008 at the Royal Society of Arts, London, and will explore the problem of interpretation in research in the visual and performing arts.

FR 5: Future (Re)iteration

Conference Description: Research Narratives is an international symposium aimed at doctoral, and post-doctoral researchers in the field of Art & Design. It focuses on debates around practice-based research by considering how practice is discussed, described or addressed in a research context. The symposium will present practical work rather than papers, using these as possible examples of research to generate debate. The symposium involves a large exhibition with over forty participants.

FR 4: Future Refrain

In what ways do the context and sensibilities of art research relate to the contexts and sensibilities of R/research in the arts and sciences and to what ends? And more particularly, how might site-specific art practice provide a model for R/research in the humanities and sciences? More particularly still, how might the reflectivity/reflexivity underpinning this approach activate R/research to make it more critically responsive to its various contexts?

FR 3: Future (Re)turn

For Detours/Desvios III 07, Future Reflections carried out a relational project aimed at destabilising the site/identity of the artwork/practitioner. Working with the event's theme of 'detours', we investigated the productive potential of circuitous conversation as a method of research. The practice and expression of 'the response' was emphasized in particular.

FR 2: Future Response

Is the Question the Answer?  Future Response is a project conceived in response to The Art of Research seminar (University of Art and Design Helsinki, 1st-3rd of October 2007). For this seminar, we will engage with questions on/of/about art Research.

FR 1: Future Reflections

Future Reflections was a three-part project that took place in the Triangle Gallery, Chelsea College of Art and Design between the 18th- 20th of April 2007. It included an exhibition, a publication and a two-day conference focusing on the interplay between research and reflection at different stages in the art-making process.
