Proposal for Documentation of the Components of Super Bulwark
Page 37.jpg

Super Bulwark was the final work from a body of welded steel sculptures produced between 2001 and 2005. The first piece in this collection, A Matter of Voice and Accent, was constructed in August and exhibited at Franconia Sculpture Park, MN, USA. The proposed documentation will entail the systematic recording of each of the sixteen works that were produced throughout this period, beginning with Super Bulwark.

Video footage of the process will accompany a written description of each work, such as the example given below.

Ten sheets of two-millimetre thick mild steel (100 x 70 cm)
One hundred meters of weld (MIG)
Thirty grinding disks
Total of three litres of paint (gloss and primer)
One hundred and twenty hours of labour

*All quantities are approximate

Currently Super Bulwark resides at High Head Sculpture Valley, Cumbria, UK.
