  1. Organize your materials. You will need two or three pencils, pens, or markers, several meters of clear and relatively clean wall space (preferably in your studio), a video camera, tripod, and a fresh tape or empty memory card.
  2. Mount the video camera on the tripod. Position the camera so the entire wall space is visible in the field of view. Start recording.
  3. Working from left to right and top to bottom, write the sentence, 'I will not make any more self-reflective art' over and over again on the wall. Overlap the lines if space is limited.
  4. Meditate on the sentence while reproducing it.
  5. Stop writing when the videotape or memory card is full. Watch the video.
