  • Aaron McPeake

    Aaron was born in Belfast but moved to London to pursue his work in stage lighting design and supervision. He has worked for over 20 years in the field for companies such as: National Theatre, Royal Opera House, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Scottish Ballet, Scottish Opera, D'Oyly Carte Opera Co., Sadlers Wells and Opera for Europe.

    He has become acutely visually impaired in recent years (registered blind) and it was the realization of this impending difficulty that he formalized his art practice with his first solo exhibition in 1997. He has utilised many media for his work and is presently making a travelogue film featuring 'the shadow', and is busy in the foundry casting objects in bell metal that generate their own unique tone. Aaron is a trustee for a medical charity, a social housing association as well as being a research student at Chelsea College of Art and Design and a founding member of Future Reflections. His work is presently concerned with low vision and visual art practice.

  • Catherine Maffioletti

    This half-English half-Brazilian emerging artist obtained a BA and an MA from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London. Whilst focusing on sculpture, Catherine also developed her interest in photography and performance during her time at Central Saint Martins; also using this time to explore her work outside of education through a number of solo and group exhibitions in the UK, Belgium and France. Catherine's work has been concerned with the performativity of the body in both word and object. Catherine is currently pursuing a PhD at Chelsea College of Art and Design, London, with her Research centring on models of reflection, reflection as a form of exchange between the human body and the object, to investigate the embodiment of the art object; with this being informed by Feminist theories, Narcissism in Romanticism and Surrealism.

  • Katrine Hjelde

    Katrine is an artist, lecturer and research student. Her practice explores space in relation to the spectator, the site and the artwork. She makes large-scale two-dimensional architectural installations where the site of the work will comprise the form. Having gained a BA in History of Art/History of Ideas at the University of Oslo, Norway, Katrine moved to London to do a BA in Fine Art at St. Martins College of Art and Design. After which she completed a MA in Fine Art at The Slade, UCL. Since graduating in 1995 she has exhibited widely in Great Britain and Europe. Since 2000 her practice includes a collaboration with a Norwegian architects practice, b+r architects. Teaching since 1997, Katrine is currently an Associate Lecturer at Chelsea College of Art and Design, where she holds a CLIP CETL Studentship for doctoral Research into the relationship between art practice and teaching practice.

  • Marsha Bradfield

    Born in South Africa and raised in Canada, Marsha Bradfield is currently pursuing an MPhil/PhD at Chelsea College of Art and Design, London. She received her BA in History and Art History from the University of Victoria, Victoria, Canada and her BFA from the Emily Carr Institute, Vancouver, Canada. Additionally, Marsha studied Mandarin at the National Taiwan Normal University in Taipei, Taiwan. Artist, educator and curator, Marsha's multiple practices investigate the significance of dialogue as a method for both communication and collaboration. Her recent work considers utterance and representation in relation to Web 2.0 technologies (blogs, wikis, social networking sites and so on). While one current project explores identity formation, projection and security in MySpace, another considers interfaith prayer online. In addition to being a founding collaborator of the Future Reflections Research Group, Marsha is also an active member of Critical Practice, a research cluster based at Chelsea College of Art and Design.
